Substrate specificity; Acting on phenol, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, o-nitrophenol, N,N-diethyl-m-toluidine, pyrocatechol, tyrosine, etc. Optimum pH; About 5.0pH stability; 4W8 (treatment at 37°C for 1hr). Molecular weight; 62,000 (measured by the gel filtration method). Isoelectric point; 3.1±0.1pH. Crystal form; Hexagonal plate form. Elementary analysis (%); N, 3.46; C, 47.06; H, 6.52. n USE: A substrate useful as a reagent for measuring enzyme activity. n PREPARATION: A microorganism having the ability to produce phenol oxidase e.g. Trametes versicolor HU8312 (NRRL15402), is cultivated preferably at 27W 30°C and 5W8pH for 48W96hr by the shaking culture method. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
