titleOfInvention Ferroelectric liquid crystal composition and optical device therefrom
abstract PURPOSE: A ferroelectric liquid crystal composition that is obtained by mixing 2 or more ferroelectric liquid crystal compounds different in basic skeletal structure to one another, thus being suitable for use in optical switches and displays, because of its good respondence. n CONSTITUTION: The objective ferroelectric liquid crystal composition is obtained by mixing 2 or more compounds having a basic skeletal structure of formula I (R, R' are alkyl; formulas II and III are divalent 6-membered rings; Z is single bond or divalent chain group) but different in the structure IV. As a compound of formula I, are preferably selected from those having benzene, (phenyl) cyclohexane, biphenyl, naphthalene ring as formulas II and III and single bond, ester, Schiff's base, oxymethylene, ethylene as Z. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
