titleOfInvention Preparation of pantentheine
abstract PURPOSE: To produce the titled compound useful as a precursor of pharmaceuticals, etc., economically in an industrial scale, by reacting pantothenic acid, its salt or ester, etc. with cysteamine or its salt in the presence of the ground organ or tissue of an animal. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compound can be prepared by reacting pantothenic acid, its salt or its ester (e.g. D-pantothenic acid methyl ester) with cysteamine or its salt (e.g. cysteamine hydrochloride) in the presence of ground animal organ or tissue or a fraction prepared therefrom, and purifying the reaction product by passing through a column packed with an ion exchange resin. The animal organ is preferably kidney of pig or rat, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
