titleOfInvention Material composition for pattern and production of pattern for precision casting using said composition
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a pattern for precision casting which shrinks to a smaller extent and has excellent machineability by melting a mixture composed of urea and homopolyamide or copolymerized polyamide consisting of the repeating structural unit having a specific structure and cooling the mixture in a metallic mold. CONSTITUTION:Urea and the homopolyamide consisting of the repeating structural unit expressed by the formula I or the copolymerized polyamide consisting of the repeating structural units expressed by the formula I and the formula IIIor the formula II and the formula III are mixed. R in the formula I is an alkyl group of 2-4 C. Such mixture is heated to melt at about >=140 deg.C and is poured into the metallic mold. The metallic mold is then cooled to cool the molten mixture. The pattern for precision casting having the intended shape is taken out of the mold. The pattern or the element thereof having a low shrinkage rate and good surface characteristic is obtd. by the above-mentioned method.
