NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is group of formula II, formula III, etc.; R 1 is H or methyl; R 2 is H, methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, or iso-propyl; X is H, halogen, methyl or methoxy). n EXAMPLE: N-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-1,4-dihydro-α-naphthamide. n USE: Herbicide free from phytotoxicity to crops and exhibiting excellent herbicidal effect especially against the weed in paddy field. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting the compound of formula RCOY [Y is OR 3 (R 3 is H or 1W30C alkyl) or halogen] with the amine compound of formula IV in a solvent such as ether for 0.1W3hr under refluxing. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
