titleOfInvention Coating resin composition containing fine powder of highly gelled polymer
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled novel composition containing fine powder of a specific highly gelated vinyl polymer, a hydroxyl-containing resin, a hardener, etc., and capable of giving a coating film having excellent weather resistance in high workability without causing cissing and sagging of the film. n CONSTITUTION: The objective resin composition is composed of (A) fine powder of highly gelated vinyl polymer prepared by removing water from an aqueous emulsion or suspension of a vinyl polymer obtained by the polymerization of (i) 5W100wt% monomer having ≥2 ethylenic unsaturated bonds (e.g. divinylbenzene) and (ii) 95W0wt% monomer having ethylenic unsaturated bond (e.g. methyl acrylate), (B) a hydroxyl-containing resin soluble homogeneously in the objective composition (e.g. polyester resin), (C) a hardener (e.g. amino resin) and (D) an organic solvent. The polymer A is prepared by polymerizing the component (i) and the component (ii) in the presence of a polymerization initiator having low decomposition temperature and an organic polymerization initiator having high decomposition temperature, and removing water from the resultant aqueous emulsion. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
