abstract PURPOSE: To obtain crystalline zirconium phosphate having a novel structure and producing a significant effect peculiar to a cation exchanger by bringing a specified liq. mixture contg. a zirconium compound, a carboxylic acid compound and a phosphoric acid compound into a reaction. n CONSTITUTION: Crystalline zirconium phosphate represented by the formula (where R is NH 4 and/or amine cation, 0≤n≤1, and 0≤m≤2) is obtd. by bringing a liq. mixture into a reaction. The liq. mixture contains a zirconium compound, a carboxylic acid compound and a phosphoric acid compound by amounts in the region defined by straight lines connecting points A (28, 3, 69), B (63, 6, 31), C (44, 43, 13) and D (1, 97, 2) in the triangular component diagram showing the amounts (mol%) of the compounds (expressed in terms of Zr, C 2 O 4 and PO 4 , respectively) and further contains an ammonium compound and/or an amine compound by 0.2W100mol (expressed in terms of ammonium ions and amine cations, respectively) per 1mol Zr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
