titleOfInvention | 4,4'-dipropioloyloxybenzophenone and its preparation |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:4,4'-Dipropioloyloxybenzophenone shown by the formula I . n USE: An intermediate for preparaing a substance to convert light energy to chemical energy. An intermediate for preparing a chemical substance to absorb easily solar energy, to convert it into chemical energy, and to preserve the energy for a long time. n PREPARATION: 4,4'-Dihydroxybenzophenone is esterified and condensed with propiolic acid in the presence of a condensation agent such as N,N'-dicyclohexyl- carbodiimide, etc., to give a compound shown by the formula I easily in high yield. The compound shown by the formula I is reacted with cyclopentadiene, to give a compound shown by the formula II useful as a substance for converting solar energy. The compound shown by the formula II absorbs easily solar energy, is converted into a compound shown by the formula III (isomer of the compound shown by the formula II), and preserves solar energy. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
