abstract | PURPOSE: The titled novel composition that is composed of a monomer of a specific structure and an initiator generating radicals and ions, thus being used in resin formation such as adhesive, because it shows good balance between toughness and stiffness, forms no voids and reduces shrinkage in crosslinking. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition consists of (A) a monomer with a structure of formula I [R is H, methyl; R' is H, alkyl, phenyl; X is an organic group selected from formula II (n is 1W8) and formula III], (B) an initiator generating radicals and (C) initiators generating cations, preferably further, (D) a compound bearing double bonds radically copolymerizable or (E) a polyvalent epoxy compound.
