abstract | PURPOSE:To provide a deodorant composition containing a specific pyrithione compound and a perfumery component having a specific vapor pressure as active components, and capable of suppressing or eliminating the smell of sweat for a long period. CONSTITUTION:The objective deodorant composition having excellent deodorizing effect to the smell of sweat is obtained by adding (A) a pyrithione compound of formula I or formula II (M is Na, Mg or Zn; n is a number corresponding to the valence of M) and (B) a perfumery component having a vapor pressure of 10<-2>-10<-4>mm.Hg at 25 deg.C and preferably having OH group, e.g. phenylethyl dimethyl carbinol, cis-3-hexenyl salicylate, n-hexyl salicylate, benzyl salicylate, cinnamic alcohol, isoamyl salicylate, vaniline, etc. to (C) a composition such as hair cosmetic, skin cosmetic, synthetic detergent for clothes, textile softener, toilet soap, etc. The amounts of the components (A) and (B) are 0.01- 10wt%, preferably 0.1-5wt% each. |
