titleOfInvention | Electrophotographic sensitive body |
abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a laminate type electrophotographic sensitive body having superior electrophotographic characteristics and mechanical strength by forming an underlayer contg. water soluble polyvinyl butyral resin as the principal component and a charge generating layer contg. phenoxy resin as a binder. CONSTITUTION:Water soluble polyvinyl butyral resin having a reduced degree of modification to butyral is used as water soluble polyvinyl butyral resin for the underlayer. Water, methanol, ethanol or the like are used as a solvent for forming the underlayer, and the thickness of th underlayer is regulated to 0.05-5mum. the charge generating layer is formed by dispersing a charge generating substance and phenoxy resin in a suitable solvent which does not dissolve water soluble polyvinyl butyral resin, applying the dispersion, and drying it. The charge generating layer is coated with a charge transferring layer of 5-100mum thickness consisting of an electron donating substance such as poly-N-vinylcarbazole or a deriv. thereof as a charge transferring substance and polystyrene or a thermosetting resin as a binder. |
