abstract | PURPOSE:A cosmetic that contains, as an essential ingredient, a combination of urocanic acid, its derivative and ethylenediaminetetracetic acid, thus showing high stability with the passage of time, because it has an activity of preventing pigments from fading. CONSTITUTION:The objective cosmetic contains, as essential ingredients, urocanic acid and its derivative such as ethyl urocanate, known as ultraviolet absorber, and ethylenediaminetetracetic acid, known as a chelating agent. The amounts used are 0.001-10.0wt%, preferably 0.005-5.0wt% in urocanic acid or its derivatives and 0.001-10.0wt%, preferably 0.005-5.0wt% in ethylenediaminetetracetic acid. These essential ingredients can be applied to cosmetics in any forms such as milky lotion, cream, pack, solution lotion or foundation, further it is applicable to weak-acidic types of cosmetics. |
