abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a molded resin article having the surface made hydrophilic, by coating the surface of a molded resin article having hydrophobic surface with a block copolymer containing hydrophobic molecular chain block and hydrophilic molecular chain block, and covering the surface with the film of the block copolymer. n CONSTITUTION: A block copolymer composed of (A) a hydrophobic molecular chain block such as a homopolymer or copolymer of a (meth)acrylate monomer, an aromatic vinyl monomer, etc., a polymer such as polyester, polyamide, etc., or a cellulose derivative and (B) a hydrophilic molecular chain block such as the homopolymer or copolymer of an acrylic monomer, copolymer of an acrylic monomer with other monomer, polyvinyl alcohol, polyalkylene oxide, polysaccharide, etc., wherein the weight ratio of the block A to the block B is 10:90W90:10, is dissolved in a mixed solvent composed of a good solvent of A and B and a poor solvent of A. The obtained solution is applied to the surface of a molded resin article (e.g. film, sheet, etc. of vinyl chloride resin, styrene resin, etc.), and the solvent is evaporated to leave the coating film of the block copolymer on the surface.
