titleOfInvention Novel 1-deoxynojirimycin derivative and hypolipemic containing the same
abstract NEW MATERIAL:1-Deoxynojirimycin derivative of formula I (R is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy; n is 0, 1W5). n EXAMPLE: N-Phenethylcarbamoyl-1-deoxynojirimycin. n USE: It has hypolipemic action and is used as a preventive or remedy for hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis and a variety of diseases caused thereby. It is low in toxicity and can be given orally. n PREPARATION: 1-Deoxynojirimycin of formula II is dispersed in an organic solvent, preferably in dimethylformamide. Then, a substituted aralkyl isocyanate of formula III is added and they are stirred. After the completion of the reaction, the organic solvent is distilled off to obtain the compound of formula I. The compound of formula II is obtained from nojirimycin (5-amino-5-deoxy-D-glycopyranose) of formula IV. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
