PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material suitable for an adhesive label having no protective layer, comprising a color former consisting of a specified fluoran derivative, a color developer consisting of bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone, and a binder consisting of COOH-modified PVA. CONSTITUTION:The objective recording material comprises (A) a color former consisting of a fluoran derivative of formula I (wherein each of R1 and R2 is lower alkyl, and X is halogen, lower alkyl, CN or NO2), e.g., 3-dibutylamino-1- orthofluoroanilinofluoran, (B) a color developer consisting of bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone (derivative) of formula II (wherein each of R3 and R4 is OH, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, phenoxy, carbonyl, NO2 or CN), e.g., bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone, and (C) a binder consisting of COOH-modified PVA, on a base. |
