abstract | PURPOSE: To markedly improve wear resistance by constituting a vane from a carbon composite which is obtained by immersing a carbon molded body with the immersion metal consisting of aluminium and forming aluminium carbide between the carbon and the immersion metal. n CONSTITUTION: A vane 8 is constituted of a carbon composite in carbon-aluminium (or aluminium alloy)-aluminium carbide series. A carbon molded body is obtained by compression-molding the minutely pulverized carbon. Then, aluminium is fed into an autoclave, and after the carbon molded body is fed into the autoclave, the inside of the furnace is decompressed, and vacuum melting is carried- out, and the air in the air vent of the molded body is discharged. The carbon molded body is immersed into the molten metal, and the inside of the autoclave is pressurized, and the inside of the air vent on the carbon molded body is impregnated with the molten metal, and an aluminium-carbide layer is formed between carbon and the immersion metal.
