abstract | PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording medium enhanced in sensitivity and S/N ratio and having excellent solvent resistance and heat resistance, by using a ground layer and a surface layer which are formed of silicon oxide, in an optical recording medium comprising a ground layer, a recording layer and a surface layer on a resin base. CONSTITUTION:The ground layer (preferably, having a thickness of 0.008- 0.03mum) consisting of a silicon oxide film is provided on the resin base (preferably, being substantially transparent to writing light and reading light and consisting of an acrylic resin or a polycarbonate resin), then the recording layer (preferably, consisting of a coloring matter composition comprising a coupled body of a cyanine coloring matter cation and a singlet oxygen quencher and having a thickness of 0.05-0.08mum) is provided thereon, and the surface layer (preferably, having a thickness of 0.008-0.012mum) consisting of a silicon oxide film is provided thereon to obtain the desired optical recording medium. EFFECT:Writing and reading and conducted on the back side of the base. USE:A heat-mode optical recording medium. |
