abstract | PURPOSE: To attain improved dispersibility in a polymn. reaction and to improve the yield of an arylene sulfide polymer by dehydrating sodium sulfide hydrate with a prescribed metallic salt in the presence of an alcohol solvent and by using the resulting composition as a starting material for the arylene sulfide polymer. n CONSTITUTION: One or more kinds of metallic salts selected among metallic salts of org. sulfonic acid, lithium halides, metallic salts of org. carboxylic acid and alkali metallic salts of phosphoric acid are brought into contact with sodium sulfide hydrate in the presence of an alcohol solvent to remove part of water in the hydrate. The resulting sodium sulfide composition is reacted with an aromatic polyhalo-compound in the presence of org. amide as a polar solvent to obtain an arylene sulfide polymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
