titleOfInvention Epoxy resin composition for carbon fiber reinforcement
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition composed of phloroglucinol triglycidyl ehter, its condensation product, and a curing agent, and suitable for a prepreg resin of a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material having excellent mechanical characteristics, heat resistance and water resistance. n CONSTITUTION: The objective resin composition for prepreg is produced by adding a curing agent such as 4,4'-diaminodiphenylsulfone, 3,3'-diaminodiphenylsulfone, dicyandiamide, boron trifluoride complex, etc. to phloroglucinol triglycidyl ether and/or its condensation product, and if necessary, compounding the mixture with ≤50wt% cure accelerator and an additive such as epoxy resin, thermoplastic resin, elastomer, etc. The obtained resin composition is impregnated as a prepreg into a reinforcing fiber comprising a carbon fiber prepared from polyacrylonitrile, pitch, rayon, etc. and, if necessary, blended with glass fiber.
