PURPOSE: To prepare L-tryptophan efficiently from indole and L-serine, by using a microorganism, capable of producing an enzyme, and subjected to given preservation treatment to improve the permeability to the product, etc. n CONSTITUTION: A microorganism, e.g. Ecsherichia coli MT-10232 or Neurospora crassa ATCC14692, capable of producing tryptophan synthetase or tryptophanase is cultivated and collected to give microbial cells capable of producing the enzyme, which are then allowed to stand at ≤60°C for ≥6hr, preferably 5W30°C for 12W60hr. Indole is reacted with L-serine in the presence of the resultant microbial cells capable of producing the enzyme in an aqueous medium. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
