titleOfInvention Asterric acid derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The asterric acid derivative of formula (one of R<1> and R<2> is H and the other is Cl). EXAMPLE:4-Chloroasterric acid. USE:It has specific phosphoriesterase-inhibiting activity to cyclic adenosine monophosphate, and is useful as a remedy for hypertension. PREPARATION:A microbial strain belonging to Penicillium genus and capable of producing an asterric acid derivative, e.g. Penicillium sp. No.3685 (FERM P- 7391), is cultured at 15-30 deg.C and 7-10pH under aerobic condition, and the objective asterric acid derivative is separated from the cultured product.
