titleOfInvention | Method of recovery of inorganic acid |
abstract | PURPOSE: To separate and to recover nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid in high purity and in high yield, by neutralizing a metal salt-containing mixed solution of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid to separate a soluble salt solution from an insoluble matter, extracting nitric acid from the soluble salt solution, recovering hydrofluoric acid from the insoluble matter. n CONSTITUTION: A mixed solution of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid, containing salts of Fe, Mn, Ni, Cn and other metals is mixed with one or more of MgO, Mg(OH) 2 , and MgCO 3 , neutralized, and a solution of soluble Mg salt is separated from an insoluble agglomerate. The soluble salt solution is passed through a chelate resin column, sulfuric acid in an amount to provide at least 1.0 equivalent more than total equivalent of dissolved cation. The solution is then brought into contact with an organic acid such as tributyl phosphate, etc., nitric acid in the solution is extracted in the organic phase, and recovered. Meanwhile, sulfuric acid in an amount to provide ≥1.0 equivalent more than total equivalent of cation in the insoluble agglomerate is added to the insoluble agglomerate with stirring to give a solution, which is fed to an evaporation tank, distilled under reduced pressure, and easily volatile hydrobromic acid is recovered. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
