titleOfInvention Production of resol phenolic resin
abstract PURPOSE: To produce the titled resin capable of giving a laminated sheet having high quality at a low cost, by using a phenol composition containing a sec-alkylphenol, and reacting the composition with an aldehyde in the presence of a basic catalyst. n CONSTITUTION: The objective resin is produced by reacting (A) a phenol composition containing a sec-alkylphenol (e.g. isopropylphenol) or a pre-reaction product obtained by reacting the phenol with an aldehyde in the presence of a basic catalyst, with (B) an aldehyde in the presence of a basic catalyst. The component A is preferably a mixture of 1mol of a phenolic compound such as phenol and ≤1mol of a sec-alkylphenol. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
