abstract PURPOSE: Pigment with treated surface containing water, having the surface coated with a metallic soap, easily dispersible into water, showing water repellency after water evaporation. n CONSTITUTION: The surface of pigment (one or more of preferably mica pearl pigment, bismuth oxychloride pearl pigment) is coated with a metallic soap [preferably a compound shown by the formula (R is ≥6C, preferably 8W20C hydrocarbon; M is metal except alkali metal; n is valence of metal M), such as aluminum stearate, etc.], and adjusted to ≥20wt% water content, preferably 50± 10wt% water content, to give the desired pigment. A cosmetic having refreshing feeling, wetting feeling, improved water resistance, and good durability of makeup is obtained by using 20W95wt% of the pigment. n EFFECT: A bar cosmetic like pencil requiring no application tool is obtained by adding gypsum to the cosmetic. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
