titleOfInvention Stabilized production of chlorine dioxide and deodorizing and disinfecting agent using it
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain stably a mixture without generating chlorine dioxide by adding sodium montmorillonite to a sodium chlorite soln. n CONSTITUTION: A proper amount of sodium montmorillonite is added to a sodium chlorite soln. to obtain stably a mixture without generating chlorine dioxide at 60W70°C. The process can be further stabilized by adding an alkaline substance such as a sodium silicate soln. Sodium montmorillonite has a chemical composition consisting of about 44W55% SiO 2 , about 16W32% Al 2 O 3 , about 0.06W8% Fe 2 O 3 , about 0.1% MgO, about 0W3.72% CaO, about 0W2.75% K 2 O, about 0W3.80% Na 2 O, about 5.4W12% H 2 O (+) and about 4W18% H 2 O (-) . The mixture can be obtd. in the form of sol, gel or powder in accordance with the concn., and chlorine dioxide is generated by oxidizing the mixture. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
