titleOfInvention Biochemical preparation of optically active 1-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)propan-2-ol
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare industrially and advantageously an optically active 1-(4- phenoxyphenoxy)propan-2-ol having a high optical purity, by using an esterase produced by a microorganism or derived from animal internal organs. n CONSTITUTION: An esterase produced by a microorganism or derived from animal internal organs is reacted with an ester of (±)-1-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)propan- 2-ol with a 1W18C saturated or unsaturated organic carboxylic acid at 10W70°C, and the resultant product is asymmetrically hydrolyzed and resolved into optically active 1-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)propan-2-ol and an antipodal ester thereof. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
