titleOfInvention Manufacture of weather strip
abstract PURPOSE:To achieve a simplification and a reduction in the molding cycle by a method wherein a die is set at an end portion, a corner molding portion or a cross section varying portion of a weather strip and a foaming urethane resin is injected or cast with an adhesive interposed in the die to integrate by molding. CONSTITUTION:A mold 11 requiring no special heating means is set near the one end of a weather strip and a lip 4' at the end of the weather strip is applied in a die 11a. 11a' indicates an insert mold. Then, an adhesive 12 harmonized with a sponge rubber, a vinyl chloride resin and a reactive urethane resin 13 is put on the outer surface of a welt and the lip 4' at one end of the weather strip applied in the die 11a. Then, a reactive urethane resin 13 is injected into the die 11a. After the injection, the resin foams spontaneously in the die 11a, expanded in the volume and spreads thoroughly to the corners. Particularly, a self skin as a thin laminar bodyh is formed on the surface contacting the die 11a.
