titleOfInvention Temperature-sensitive polymer
abstract PURPOSE: A temperature-sensitive polymer, consisting of N-ethylmethacrylamide homopolymer or a copolymer thereof with another copolymerizable monomer, insolubilizable in water by heating to cause clouding, and suitable for temperature sensors, temperature-sensitive adhesives, etc. n CONSTITUTION: N-Ethylmethacrylamide alone polymerized or copolymerized with another copolymerizable monomer, e.g. acrylamide or acrylic acid, preferably in the presence of a polymerization initiator, e.g. ammonium persulfate or sodium hydrogensulfite, by the radical polymerization method to give the aimed temperature-sensitive polymer. n EFFECT: A polymer having a cloud point between 40W95°C can be obtained depending on the kind and amount of the monomer and method for polymerization. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
