titleOfInvention | Production of polyester |
abstract | PURPOSE: To produce a polyester having excellent color tone and high polymerization degree, in a short time, by reacting terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol in the presence of a dihydroxybenzene-mono- or dicarboxylic acid. n CONSTITUTION: The objective polyester can be produced by reacting (A) terephatic acid, bifunctional carboxylic acid composed mainly thereof, or its ester- forming derivative with (B) ethylene glycol, glycol composed mainly thereof or its ester-forming derivative in the presence of (C) a dihydroxybenzene-mono- or dicarboxylic acid. The carboxylic acid is e.g. 2,4-dihydroxy-benzoic acid, and is added to the system in an amount of 0.01W10mol per 100mol of the acid component of the produced polyester, prior to the initiation of the polycondensation reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
