abstract PURPOSE: To form the titled magnetic recording medium whose magnetic layer has excellent adhesiveness to a nonmagnetic substrate by incorporating ketone, ester, and a copolymer of hydroxy lower alkyl acrylate or methacrylate and glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate into the undercoat layer. n CONSTITUTION: The magnetic recording medium is obtained by forming a magnetic layer on a nonmagnetic substrate through an undercoat layer, and ketone, ester, and a copolymer of hydroxy lower alkyl acrylate or hydroxy lower alkyl methacrylate and glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate which is insoluble in aromatic organic solvents are incorporated into an undercoat layer. Consequently, the adhesiveness between the magnetic layer and the nonmagnetic substrate is improved, and the magnetic recording medium whose magnetic layer is not mixed with the undercoat layer when the magnetic layer is formed can be obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
