titleOfInvention Antistatic polyphenylene ether resin composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a composition afforded with antistatic performance retainable even heated in the molding processes thus adequate for its putting to practical use, by incorporating sodium alkyl-sulfonate in a composition comprising polyphenylene ether resin and aromatic vinyl hydrocarbon resin. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a composition comprising (i) 5W95(pref.30W70)wt% of polyphenylene ether resin pref. poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)etherl and (ii) the rest of aromatic vinyl hydrocarbon resin (e.g. polystyrene, rubber-modified polystyrene) with (B) 0.5W10(pref. 2W5)pts.wt. of sodium 6W30C alkyl-sulfonate. The component (B) is low in the affinity for said resin matrix, significant in the migration to the surface of molded articles therefrom, thus being highly effective for providing the articles with antistatic performance. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
