titleOfInvention Azolyl-3-substituted butane derivative, its production and agricultural and horticultural fungicide
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The azolyl-3-substituted butane derivative of formula I (Ar is phenyl which may be substituted with halogen atom; R 1 is methyl or phenyl; X is group of formula II or CO; Az is 1-imidazolyl or 1,2,4-triazol-1-yl; R 2 is lower alkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl). n EXAMPLE: 1-(4-Chlorophenoxy)-1-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-3-methyl-3-phenyl-butan-2-one. n USE: An agricultural and horticultural fungicide. It has no phytotoxicity to crops, and exhibits strong fungicidal activity to a wide variety of plant pathogens. Especially, it has remarkable and exact controlling effect against powdery mildew. n PREPARATION: A compound of formula I wherein X is group of formula II can be produced by reacting the compound of formula III (Hal is halogen) with the compound of formula Ar-H. The product can be converted to another compound of formula I wherein X is CO by reduction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
