titleOfInvention | Condensation of polyester |
abstract | PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a polyester free from rise in viscosity accompanied by its molecular weight increase, by dispersing bis(β-hydroxyethyl)terephthalate in an aromatic hydrocarbon using a specific dispersion stabilizer followed by performing condensation. n CONSTITUTION: (A) Bis(β-hydroxyethyl)terephthalate (or its initial condensate) is dispersed, in a particulate form, using (B) as dispersion stabilizer, an acrylic resin grafted with polyester oligomer to backbone structure constituted by ≥6C alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer, in (C) an aromatic hydrocarbon followed by heating pref. to 150W300°C to promote ethylene glycol-elimination reaction, thus performing the objective condensation for the final polyester. The component (B) can be prepared, for example, by the reaction between glycidyl group-contg. acrylic resin and polyester oligomer. n EFFECT: Invariant in the heat transfer through the wall of condensation vessel. Requiring no large agitating power. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
