titleOfInvention | Printing method for golf ball |
abstract | PURPOSE:To prevent generation of rejectable articles lacking a part of a mark or a part of a spiral, by a method wherein a mark or a spiral is printed in an ultraviolet-curing type ink on the outside surface of a golf ball, and is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to cure the ink. CONSTITUTION:A golf ball blank material of a spool form, a two-piece type or the like is covered by a layer 4 of a base coating material having a while or other color, and a mark is printed thereon in an ultraviolet-curing type ink such as a UV ink based on a urethane-modified acrylic resin by a tampon printing method. Immediately thereafter, the ink is hardened by irradiating it with UV rays E for a few seconds by a UV lamp 5. Then, a transparent coating material is directly overcoated thereon to provide a protective outer layer 6, followed by drying to produce the golf ball 1. By this method, a ball-coating operation can be finished in a shorter period of time, as compared with a conventional method using a two-pack mixing type ink. |
