PURPOSE: To enable the control of the pH and the dissolved oxygen concentration (DO 2 ) preventing the mutual interaction of the values, by changing the flow rates of N 2 and O 2 together with the flow rate of CO 2 to be controlled its pH value, and changing the flow rate of CO 2 together with the flow rates of O 2 and N 2 to be controlled its DO 2 . n CONSTITUTION: Cell is cultured in a culture vessel 1 under the control of the feed of N 2 , O 2 and CO 2 to the gaseous phase part 3 of the vessel 1, keeping the pH value and the DO 2 in the culture liquid to respective specific levels. When the pH value is deviated from the preset value, the pH is controlled by adjusting the flow rate of CO 2 , and at the same time, the change in the O 2 partial pressure in the gaseous phase part 3 caused thereby is compensated by controlling the flow rates of N 2 and O 2 . On the other hand, when the DO 2 in the culture liquid 2 is deviated from the preset level, the DO 2 is controlled by adjusting the flow rates of N 2 and O 2 without performing the control of the flow rate of CO 2 . n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
