abstract PURPOSE:To provide an adhesive composition having improved adhesivity, useful for the bonding of fiber and rubber in the rubber product such as tire, etc., and composed of a specific rubbery vinylpyridine copolymer latex and an aqueous dispersion of a resorcinol-formaldehyde resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is obtained by mixing (A) 100pts.wt. (solid basis) of a rubbery vinylpyridine copolymer latex having a weight-average particle diameter of the latex particles of >=0.15mu, preferably >=0.18mu, (if the weight-average particle diameter is <0.18mu, the content of the fraction with particle diameter of >=0.18mu is >=5wt%), with (B) preferably 10-40pts.wt. (dry basis) of a resorcinol-formaldehyde resin.
