titleOfInvention Production of copolyamide
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a copolyamide excellent in transparency, toughness, and ethanol resistance, by polycondensing a dicarboxylic acid component comprising terephthalic and isophthalic acids with a diamine component based on 5-methyl- nonamethylenediamine. n CONSTITUTION: A copolyamide is obtained by polycondensing by heating a dicarboxylic acid component comprising 70W90mol% terephthalic acid and 30W 10mol% isophthalic acid with a diamine component comprising 70W100mol% 5-methylnonamethylenediamine-(1,9) and 0W30mol% 2,4-dimethyloctanediamine- (1,8) and 2,4,6-trimethylheptanediamine-(1,7) and, optionally, a polymerization degree modifier, heat stabilizer, and light stabilizer at 250W300°C and an elevated pressure in the presence of a small amount of water in an inert gas atmosphere, while the water formed is being removed from the system. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
