titleOfInvention | Production of cyclobranol and cyclobranyl ferulate ester using a catalyst |
abstract | PURPOSE: 24-Methylenecycloartanol (ferulate ester) is solely or together with nonvolatile liquid, fluidized, then brought into contact with a solid catalyst such as acidic clay under vacuum to achieve industrially advantageous production of the titled compound with physiological activity. n CONSTITUTION: A substance containing 24-methylenecycloartanol or its ferulate ester represented by formula I is fluidized solely or in the combination with a nonvolatile liquid such as animal or vegetable oil, fluid paraffin, lubricant or silicone oil. Then, the fluidized product is brought into contact with a solid catalyst such as acidic clay, activated clay, silica gel, activated alumina, zeolite or activated carbon under heating to effect conversion into cyclobranol or its ferulate ester, the objective compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
