titleOfInvention Electrode cell for high temperature
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled electrode cell which decreases electrolyte leakage and has high reliability by providing inward projecting recesses on an outside wall of an electrolyte vessel in which an electrode is sealed and a liquid junction part is provided and attaching diaphragms into the recesses so that the change in the volume of the electrolye is accommodated. n CONSTITUTION: A KCl soln. 12 as an electrolyte and a silver and silver electrode element 10 consisting of silver chloride is sealed into an electrolyte vessel 11 and a liquid function part 5 is provided to constitute a polar cell of a reference electrode. Semispherical recesses projecting inward are provided to the hexagonal columnar outside wall of the above-mentioned vessel 11 of said cell and a hole through which an electrolyte 12 can flow is provided in each of said recesses. A silicone diaphragm 13 is attached in each recess by means of a diaphragm retainer 7. When the electrolyte 12 expands at a high temp., the electrolyte 12 passes through the above-mentioned hole and expands the diaphragm 13 to the position 4, thereby accommodating the expansion thereof and preventing the leakage from the part 5. When the electrolyte 12 shrinks at a low temp., the diaphragm 13 returns to the inside of the recess without closing the communicating hole in the midway. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
