abstract | PURPOSE:To enhance fastness after color developement and prevent flushing, by using a colorless or light-colored color forming dye capable of forming a color in the presence of an acidic substance in combination with diphenylmethyl 4- hydroxybenzoate (hereinafter, referred to as DPMHB). CONSTITUTION:A fine powder of a colorless or light-colored color forming dye capable of forming a color in the presence of an acidic substance, a fine powder of DPMHB of the formula and, optionally, a fine powder of a sensitizer are dispersed in an aqueous solution of a water-soluble binder to prepare a coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to an appropriate base such as a paper to obtain a thermal color forming type recording material. DPMHB is used in an amount of 1-10pts. per 1pt. of the dye. The dye is preferably of the leuco type, e.g., fluoran type, phthalide type, lactam type or triphenylmethane type. |
