titleOfInvention Hexahydrotriazine compound
abstract NEW MATERIAL:1,3,5-Tris[(trishydroxymethyl)methyl]hexahydrotriazine of formula. n USE: Catalyst and crosslinking agent for various urethane foam, hardener, cure accelerator, and crosslinking agent for epoxy resin, curing agent and vulcanization accelerator for rubber latex, and electrode-protecting agent. It is useful also as a raw material of other chemicals taking advantage of the reactivity of the tertiary amino group and primary hydroxyl group. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula can be produced e.g. by reacting 1mol of trihydroxymethylaminomethane with preferably about 1.2W2.5mol of formaldehyde under heating preferably at 60W90°C. The formaldehyde is used as an aqueous solution containing preferably 1W10wt% methanol and 30W60wt% formaldehyde. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
