titleOfInvention Combustion of tar sand bitumen
abstract PURPOSE:To make a substantial direct combustion of bitumen by a method wherein liquid of low boiling point is mixed with tar sand bitumen having melting remained gas separated and removed under a flashing in reduced pressure to make an emulsion form and they are atomized and burnt. CONSTITUTION:Tar sand bitumen 51 stored in a fuel tank 52 is heated by a heater 53 up to such a temperature as it can be transported through a pipe, thereafter it is pressurized with a pump 55, its pressure is decreased in a flash tank 56 so as to separate the component in the gas melted in the tar 54. Then, a part of the tar 50 of which melting gas component is removed is made as a combustion tar 63, it is mixed with liquid 81 of low boiling point such as water by a line mixer 80 to make its emulsion form. Then, the produced emulsion tar 82 is heated by a heater 66 in the heating unit 65 up to such a temperature as enabling its atomization, then it is pressurized by a fuel supplying pump 67 and injected by a burner 71 together with pressurizing medium 69 such as air and burnt.
