abstract PURPOSE:To make a fan fraction small without narrowing a field of view, and to reduce chance simultaneous counting noise by moving a group split point of a detector group. CONSTITUTION:When a group of detectors 401 is split into (n) groups, and a split point (a) is moved by an na detector portion whenever a detector ring 402 executes one scan, the distribution (theta,t) corresponding to a simultaneous counting line moves by DELTAtheta=2pi(na/nt) in the theta direction. In the expression, theta: t: and nt denote an angle between the simultaneous counting line and the (y) axis; a distance from the center of the ring 402 of the simultaneous measuring line; and the number of all detectors on the ring, respectively. Accordingly, by the movement of the split point (a) of once, the field of view is widened by DELTAr, a new sample point is generated, and a fraction (f)=m/n of a ratio of the number of opposed detectors (m) counted simultaneously against one detector, and the number of detectors nt is not made large but can remain a small value without narrowing the field of view. As a result, chance simultaneous counting noise is reduced, and a picture quality of a positron CT device can be raised.
