titleOfInvention Purification of crude glycoside
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain simply and economically a glycoside suitable as a raw material for glycoside polyether useful for preparing expanded polyurethane, having no reducing sugar, having color stability, by bringing an aqueous solution of crude glycoside containing reducing saccharide into contact with a yeast. n CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution (preferably ≤40wt%) of crude glycoside (e.g., hydroxyalkyl glycoside, etc.) containing reducing sugar is brought into contact with a yeast (preferably Saccharomyces cerevisiae IFO 0971, etc.), and preferably treated with active carbon, to give a purified glycoside. The purification is preferably carried out by the use of an immobilized yeast by column process or batch process. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
