titleOfInvention Ion selective electrode
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an ion selective electrode which does not require internal electrolyte, is simple in construction and has high reliability by providing a conductive liquid layer between an ion selective film and a conductive base and stabilizing the electrical contact. CONSTITUTION:A conductive base 2 which closes hermetically the open end of an electrode cylindrical body 1 having an insulation characteristic and is formed of Pt, Au, etc. is provided. A conductive liquid layer 3 which prevents the surface of the base 2 on the side of the liquid to be detected from dissolving an ion selective film 5 is interposed between the base 2 and the film 5, and a lead wire 4 is connected to the base 2, whereby an ion selective electrode is manufactured. A liquid prepd. by dissolving salt, such as tetraethylammonium chloride or KCl4O4 in propylene glycol, diethyl sulfoxide, etc. is used for the layer 3. The electrode which decreases and stabilizes the fluctuation in the potential of the ion selective electrode is thus obtd.
