titleOfInvention Solid electrolyte battery
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a useful active material which can provide an excellent electric discharge characteristic by using as a positive active material at least one compound chosen from among bismuth iodide, antimony iodide and arsenic iodide. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 1 made of Li or an Li alloy used as a negative active material, is provided on one side surface of a solid electrolyte 2 made of LiCl, Li3N, Li, Na-beta-Al2O3, yLi3N-(1-y)LiI (0<y<1), Li-beta-Al2O3 or the like. The symbol 3 represents a positive electrode which is provided on the other side surface of the solid electrolyte 2, and which contains at least one positive active material chosen from among bismuth iodide, antimony iodide and arsenic iodide as well as an electron-conducting auxiliary agent such as the metallic powder of Ni, Ag, Cu, Pb or the like. The above positive active materials all have laminar crystal structures similar to that of cadmium iodide, and are easily alloyed with Li. As a result, Li ion is excellently diffused, and a small increase in the internal resistance is caused with the progress of electric discharge, thereby the electric discharge capacity can be increased.
