titleOfInvention Water soluble rust preventive agent and method for rust prevention
abstract PURPOSE:To allow a rust preventive effect to be shown over a long term by coating parts made of a cold rolled steel sheet or a zinc coated steel sheet with a water soluble rust preventive agent having a specified composition and by tightly sealing the coated parts in an atmosphere of a volatile rust preventive agent. CONSTITUTION:Car parts made of a cold rolled steel sheet or a zinc coated cold rolled steel sheet are coated with a rust preventive agent consisting essentially of 5-60g/l alkaline sodium orthophosphate or alkaline potassium orthophosphate, 2-25g/l sodium tetraborate or potassium tetraborate and 2-30g/ lpotassium benzoate or sodium benzoate. The coated parts are tightly sealed in a box together with a gas permeable bag contg. a volatile rust preventive agent such as cyclohexylamine carbonate. When the coated parts are taken out of the box and allowed to stand in the air, the rust preventive agent effect is maintained for about one month, and the rust preventive agent is very easily removed before coating because it is soluble in water.
