abstract |
PURPOSE: To improve the releasing power during development by using a precursor having a photographically useful group and an alkali-cleavable group bonded to each other with a specified group. n CONSTITUTION: A photographic constituent layer on a support contains a compound represented by the formula (where A is a group cleavable by alkali hydrolysis such as RCO-, RO-CO- or R 2 N-CO-, and Z is a photographically useful group having N and bonding to A-OCH 2 through N such as 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone or benzotriazole). The compound is converted into Z-CH 2 OH in the 1st stage, and in the 2nd stage, HZ and CH 2 O are formed to show photographic action. The compound is dispersed in gelatin as a soln. in high b.p. oil, and it has superior shelf stability and does not cause desensitization and fog.
