titleOfInvention Viscosity reducer for highly concentrated coke/water slurry
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled viscosity reducer containing (alkyl) naphthalenesulfonic acid/formalin condensate as essential ingredient and producing a highly concentrated coke/water slurry which is obtained by dispersing finely powdered coke in water and can be transported by pumping. n CONSTITUTION: The viscosity reducer contains as essential ingredient a condensate of naphthalenesulfonic acid and/or 1W4C alkyl-naphthalenesulfonic acid with formalin (average degree of condensation of 1.5W20, pref. 2W5) or salt thereof (e.g. Na, Ca or NH 4 salt). It reduces the viscosity of coke/water slurry and improves its fluidity. The reducer makes it possible to fluidize coke by use of a small amount of water and transport the slurry by pumping. When used as fuel for boiler, for example, the slurry can be burned as it is in a boiler without the need of dehydration process before burning. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
