titleOfInvention Production of polyester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester capable of providing films excellent in slip property and an accuracy of thickness, by adding terephthalic acid and a P compound to bis(β-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate containing an alkaline earth metal compound. n CONSTITUTION: A polymerizable composition based on bis(β-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate and/or its oligomer is obtained by transesterifying an acid component based on terephthalic acid(ester) with a glycol component based on ethylene glycol in the presence of 0.01W1.0mol% (in terms of an alkaline earth metal), based on the acid component, alkaline earth metal compound. Then, to this composition are added terephthalic acid in an amount of 0.25W2.0 times, by mole, that of the alkaline earth metal, and a P compound in an amount to provide a P to alkaline earth metal ratio of 0.01W1.1, and the resulting mixture is polycondensed at 230W270°C and a pressure of below 1mmHg. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
